Collecting her subject matter from her immediate surroudings and the cities she visits, Rachel Maxi thinks of her work as a diary of the mundane. Using strong light and bright colors, elements that excite her as a painter, she records the landscape of contemporary life. Recently, she's been looking to dumpsters and pick-up trucks for her visual meditations on the world in which we live.
