Re/Mixes | New Work by Harold Hollingsworth
These days, Harold Hollingsworth enjoys playing the role of the reactionary, allowing himself to see with fresh perspective the shelved ideas he has worked with for years in his past. A lover of music, he's taking cues from the DJ: re-imagining and re-mixing his own visual work.
In the current exhibit, Hollingsworth's new work revisits and reconfigures ideas he's been ruminating on for years. In Squaller, his concentric rounds of black, white and gray populate a richly textured field of orange. Monochrome ellipses bump against each other, reading like busy cell multiplication.
